COME COLOUR & CREATE WITH US AT THE POLISH CLUB ASHFIELD’S EUROPEAN EASTER MARKET

The Polish Club Ashfield European Easter Market is a community based market that looks to provide and share the magic of a European Easter through inspired foods, goods, crafts, services, and entertainment.

Enjoy a day of cultural festivities, food, crafts and other wares from various stalls on the day.  The market will be situated indoors in the Grand Salon of The Polish Club Ashfield on Sunday 29th March 2026 between 10:00am – 4:00pm.

The Liverpool Polish Saturday School will be there providing a calm corner for children to play, colour and create.

Polish Rhyme & Story Time fosters a love of reading and helps develop important early literacy skills and social interaction. It is a friendly, inclusive space for parents and carers to meet up, mingle and make new friends. Hosted by early Polish Language Educator Ewelina Ellsmore from Liverpool Polish Saturday School/Australia. This event is FREE!

IMPORTANT NOTES | Parents and/or guardians must stay onsite at all times. This is not a drop off service. Registrations are essential, so we can prepare the appropriate amount of material. Event hosted in the Polish language, but we encourage all levels of Polish proficiency to attend.

ABOUT YOUR HOST | Ewelina Ellsmore is a Polish Language Educator, and enjoys sharing her knowledge of the Polish language, its traditions, and history with new generations of children. She is an initiator and organiser of many events and projects promoting Polish language and Polish culture in Sydney. In 2023, she introduced the bilingual Polish/English Story Time at the NSW State Library.

GETTING THERE | The Polish Club Ashfield is located 182 Liverpool Road, Ashfield. Pedestrian access is only available from Liverpool Road.

TRAIN | They are conveniently only a 5 minute walk from Ashfield Train Station. Take the Brown Street Exit from the train station, and continue up Browns Street until you reach Liverpool Road. Cross the road and continue left. The destination will be on your right.

PARKING | They are delighted to welcome guests to park their vehicles in their underground carpark. The entrance is located via 73 Norton Street. You can easily enter the club from the carpark using the lift. Alternatively, there is always plenty of street parking in the surrounding area with access to the club via the front entrance on 182 Liverpool Road.

CHECK-IN | Ensure to arrive 15 minutes prior to the event to be able to check-in at reception. Members can easily scan their members card, and guests can either scan their drivers license or become an associate member for $2. Allow 5 minutes to become a member. Member’s receive 10% discount on selected items.

LUNCH AT STO LAT & POLKA CAFE & DELI | Pair this activity with a traditional lunch at Sto Lat Restaurant or Polka Cafe & Deli. Hot drinks, sandwiches, and cakes are available for purchase at Polka Cafe & Deli from 10:00am. A lunch menu from Sto Lat Restaurant is available from 12:00pm.

ONLINE SESSION | HOW TO FOSTER POLISH SPEECH FOR BILINGUAL CHILDREN

THURSDAY 23 APRIL 2026, 6:30pm

Let’s help children strengthen their Polish language – with joy, play, and expert advice.

This online session led by Speech Pathologist Dr Mateusz Szurek and presented by Liverpool Polish Saturday School in conjunction with University of Łódź, and Polish Chamber of Commerce will provide practical strategies, fun activities, and playful exercises designed to strengthen Polish language skills in bilingual children. Through engaging games, you’ll learn how to make language learning enjoyable and effective at home or in the classroom.

Perfect for parents, teachers, and anyone passionate about supporting children in their bilingual journey!

Session run in the Polish language.

ABOUT DR MATEUSZ SZUREK | Dr. Mateusz Szurek is a speech-language pathologist, a specialist in voice disorder rehabilitation, and a lecturer at the University of Łódź. He also serves as president of the Polish Society for Voice Rehabilitation and vice-president of the Łódź Branch of the Polish Speech-Language Pathology Society.

As part of his speech-language pathology practice, he diagnoses and provides speech-language pathology therapy for adults, specialising in the rehabilitation of individuals with voice disorders and in working with individuals who use their voice professionally. He also works with children with speech and communication disorders.

Neuro-speech-language pathology is close to his heart not only in clinical practice but also in his research, which is why he has been working at the University of Łódź as an assistant professor since 2017. He is the author of scientific publications in the fields of speech-language pathology, speech-language pathology, and voice rehabilitation. He furthers his clinical knowledge through numerous training courses, scientific conferences, and internships both in Poland and abroad.
